Newly Grad IV

I made an error last time in my explanation of the way Quals operated. I assumed that the distribution of the numbers of professors per category was 4, 3, 2, and 1. However, I found out that if I’m lucky, it can be 4, 4, and 2, or 4, 3, and 3. Now I’m debating over which categories to choose. I will be meeting with my advisor on Friday to discuss classes, Quals, and possible research.

…my first haircut. Actually, my roommate helped me a bit in the back, but I did most of it.

What? Don’t look at me. He started it. He bought this hair clipper, and started cutting his own hair. But he needed some help in some areas, so I had to help him trim the back. It came out alright, so I decided I wanted in on the action too. So I started to cut my own hair. Somewhere in the middle, I realized I needed his help to clip the back. So I handed the buzzer to him and asked him to trim it down. He gave up after a while, and so I finished the job.
